Parts named most often, all years

Counts add up complaint mentions across the listed years. A complaint can name several parts.

Example complaints

One per model year, chosen for length and detail. Personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

2015: “My radiator is leaking with only 48000 miles on it. There has been a recall on the model years prior to and after mine, for the same problem. A radiator should not have cracks caused from a thermostat problem in this short amount of miles. It is a slow leak and I am going to have to replace the radiator before it causes other problems or gets worse.”

NHTSA complaint #11389335, filed 2021-01, 48,000 miles

2014: “Have had the vehicle at piles chevy and dan cummins chevy multiple times along with tire discounters everyone says vehicle is in spec and the shaking at 70 to 75 MPH is normal however I've owned multiple vehicles non of them has ever had this issue I can't get the dealer to fix it they only say it's a known issue truck only has 57000 miles on it.”

NHTSA complaint #11405973, filed 2021-04, 56,000 miles

2021: “I just bought my new silverado yesterday, and when I drove it for the first time at night I realized that the infotainment display stays extremely bright even when the instrument cluster is dim. This is dangerously distracting while driving at night. The model I have does not givee an option to adjust the infotainment screen separately.”
