Example complaints

Electronic stability control: “Takata recall: I don't know if I'm doing this right but my car's warning system alerted me that the ESC was turned off and to service ESC , this always happens while driving my car, never stationary.it's an intermittent problem but one that is mentioned as a recall for my make, model and year. When I search my VIN I get no alerts on recalls for my specific vehicle but wanted to be sire it wasn't skipped or missed. …”

NHTSA complaint #11195403, filed 2019-04, 95,000 miles

Steering: “My electronic or electric power steering goes out in the middle of driving with my children in the car a 1 year old daughter and 3 year old son not safe at all. Very difficult to drive I already have to other recalls on this car but I noticed other exact same model of cars have the same issue and have been recalled but my car and VIN # is not listed on the recall but have exactly the same issues as others.”

NHTSA complaint #11063523, filed 2018-01, 10,119 miles

Electrical system: “There is a recall of my vehicles battery hybrid pack. I brought in the car 2 weeks ago b/c the engine ceases and restarts by itself and jerks forward at every stop sign and red light. The dealer said today that the parts wont be in for another 2 weeks. The car is hazardous to drive and they wont give me a loaner.”

NHTSA complaint #10357191, filed 2010-09, 14,900 miles

Transmission and drivetrain: “My car feels like it is almost going to stall out whenever I accelerate from a stop. This has become very dangerous for me when crossing and intersection from a stop. I have almost been hit several times. I am not sure, but I think it has to do with the hybrid system. This usually only happens when the air conditioner is on, but I have experienced it with it off too. Now, whenever I come to a stop and try to accelerate, I have to push the gas pedal all the way to the floor because if I do that, it doesn't feel like its going to stall out near as bad. …”
