“The air bag is going off and I looked it up and they want lots of money for this problem and it happens in so many Malibu's of this year and even more years. I'm just worried it's a safety hazard when I'm driving myself and girlfriend or anyone else for that matter. What if the sensor is bad and it doesn't deploy if needed”

NHTSA complaint #11055392, filed 2017-12, 98,000 miles

“The service airbag light comes on and goes off quite often. This could cause accident or kill a person if goes off. The power steering starts getting hard to use then makes noise then fine. Airbag light doesn't have to be in motion. Power steering is in motion. On highway and turning. There is no recalls that I know of for airbags but heard there was. This has been an issue since I bought car 1/27/18 to today”

NHTSA complaint #11105342, filed 2018-07, 191,000 miles

“Air bag light comes on and off. Put gas in the car and the gauge goes to empty even though I have a full tank of gas. (replaced part in the gas tank a couple of years ago) engine light has stayed on. Need to replace 2 sensors in the engine. Loud noises when I go over rough roads. I am not sure. After the steering wheel linkage was replaced that is when the noise got louder.”

NHTSA complaint #10573621, filed 2014-03, 109,000 miles

“1 year ago I was driving and I got hit in the side. For some reason the airbags didn't deploy and I got hit pretty hard because the driver driver side doors were not able to open. I drove home with and they said that it was fixable although it didn't look like it. Its fixed now but ive always had my suspicion that it is part of the recall. It was moving, on a street, about to turn when she hit me. I did not brake.”

NHTSA complaint #10882734, filed 2016-07, 90,000 miles

“When I was driving on a city street getting read to pick up my sibiling from schooli received a notification on the radio display that said power steering off then it was very difficult to turn my wheel and almost got in an accident. This happened nearby an elementary school. The power steering went off right when I was about to make a turn. Also, the air bag for the drivers side has consistently been going off for the past couple of months and I receive alerts through the radio display.”
