“Stopped behind traffic and the vehicle behind me did not. Not sure how fast they were going, but fast enough to hit the rear of my car 2 times and push me into the vehicle in front of me. The problem is-- my air bags did not deploy. I am having issues with back and neck since the seat belt did not hold me in place. The drivers seat broke, but the passengers seat belt held, but no air bags.”

NHTSA complaint #10593551, filed 2014-05, 82,000 miles

“Driver tail light goes in and out when it feels like it, and my seat belt lght comes on and dings even though I have my seat belt on. Also my traction control light comes on as well even though the roads are dry”

NHTSA complaint #11047488, filed 2017-11, 96,000 miles

“Electronic stability control ESC light comes on and says service then ESC off. This is a safety issue with these cars. Seat belts fail. Safety issue. And our will not start because the anti theft system is activated for no reason. All of these are consistent with several other complaints. Gm should be ashamed for selling vehicles that fail. Approximately 78,000 miles. Hopefully they will step up and correct these problems!!”

NHTSA complaint #11252526, filed 2019-08, 78,000 miles

“When buckling seat belt it will click but seat belt light stays on I have to try several time for the light to go off. This happens when its warm or hot outside. Only drivers side is effected with this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10576037, filed 2014-03, 63,000 miles

“2010 Chevrolet Malibu. Attorney representing consumers writes in regards to vehicle front passenger air bag and seat belt malfunction. The consumer was rear ended, which in turn caused him to rear end the vehicle in front of him. As a result of the impact, the consumers wife sustained a very serious closed head injury when her head struck the windshield, despite the fact she was a wearing her seat belt and the vehicle was equipped with frontal air bags that did not deploy. …”
