“Drivers seat separates from where the side air bag is stored. Has been returned to the dealer several times but they have not been able to repair. “The material on the driver's seat keeps pulling away from the side air bag leaving an unsightly hole in the seat back. The problem started as soon as I purchsed the car 11 months ago. I have taken the car in to the dealership for repair at least three times and have not had any satisfaction. The last two times I have been told that GM is preparing a technical bulletin with a fix but nothing so far. I have complained to Chevrolet and they checked with the dealer and were told they were trying. I was promised a free lof for my trouble. …”

NHTSA complaint #751590, filed 2001-09

“While driving the air bag light had come on intermittently and the air bag compartment appears warped due to the leather being separated from the compartment. The dealer replaced the side seat air bag retainer. The driver side seat belt had locked up, and the trim panel on the dash had fallen.”
