“When leaving work my truck would crank but not start. Started searching fixes on the internet. I found many people talking about a known issue with the fuel pump control module. Called the dealer and the dealer already knew of this issue in my year model truck. I purchased the fuel pump control module and fixed the problem. I purchased this module at full price because there is no recall on my VIN number. One week later a coworker had the same issue on his 2024 truck and his truck was covered under warranty.”
NHTSA complaint #11774121, filed 2026-10“first issue was around April-May 2025 when my engine started knocking and burning fuel. Warning light came on and it went right in to the dealer where I have all my maintenance done. They determined that it due to (2) faulty fuel injectors and I had them replaced at that time. In December of 2025 my engine started doing the same thing as before with the knocking and burning fuel and reduced speeds when on the highway so again it went into the dealer. It has since been in there and first was told it was the fuel injector again. …”
NHTSA complaint #11711815, filed 2026-01“Starting smelling gas inside of the cab, at first thought it was non-issue, but the smell persisted. Several days passed, and when I went to warm up my truck in the morning smelled a strong gas odor, and when I looked under the engine - there was a pool of gas, and gas was leaking. Took it in to the dealership (thinking it was a simple loose filter line) but they now say that it is more than that. Not sure if this has been a re-occurring issue with these new trucks, but it could have been a very dangerous situation.”
NHTSA complaint #11443942, filed 2021-12“I own a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Duramax diesel with approximately 100,300 miles. The truck began displaying a “Service Emissions System” warning and a countdown message that in a certain number of miles the vehicle will be limited in speed (for example to 65 mph). …”
NHTSA complaint #11700011, filed 2025-11“The contact owned a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the contact noticed flames coming from the cab and the bed of the vehicle. The contact stated that the flames grew bigger and the contact pulled over to the side of the road and exited the vehicle before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. A report was made with the fire department. There were no injuries. Medical attention was sought for mental and emotional purposes related to the incident. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. …”
