“The seat belt in the rear passenger side will not retract or come out. It doesn't seem to be anchored. I have toddlers so, I need this seat belt. This leaves my children with no seat belt option. It's snow and ice out and my vehicle is now a hazard to my children's lives!”

NHTSA complaint #10381642, filed 2011-02, 150,000 miles

“I have a 99 Tahoe that I was involved in an accident. I hit a car while doing 40mph that had pulled out infront of me. My air bags didn't deploy and my safety belt didn't keep me from hitting the steering wheel hard. Upon review of my safety belt, I noticed that it is routed incorrectly at the top holder. It binds on itself preventing it from retracting. My passenger side is routed correctly and works perfectly. I suffered a brain injury because of this and am quite concerned.”

The pickup struck the Tahoe on the driver's side of the vehicle behind the rear passenger door. The side window in the cargo area was broken by the impact and the Tahoe spun around. All four occupants of the Tahoe were wearing safety belts with shoulder harnress. My son was sitting in the back seat on the passenger side of the vehicle. …”
