Example complaints

Engine: “Driving on the interstate and vehicle started slowing down then abruptly stopped. We were able to get onto the shoulder of the road. The gear would not stay in drive mode continuing to slip out of drive and into park. We made it to a dealership in Knoxville tn where we had to leave it..”

NHTSA complaint #11762304, filed 2026-09

Other or unknown: “We were traveling over 70mph on a Kansa state turnpike near Wellington, Ks. and all drive power was lost! Luckily, being in the right lane we then had to coast to the right ditch lane. We saw a message on driver’s info screen “service transmission”. Tried to shift off drive and back on..nothing. So, we shut the engine off and restarted and the message stayed on but we power managed to drive over 20 miles to a Wichita Kansas Chevy dealer called Davis Moore Chevrolet (recommended by first stop, Derby Kansas Chevy Co,) for solution. …”

NHTSA complaint #11721852, filed 2026-03

Forward collision avoidance: “I was on the interstate. Initially I heard a faint rattling sound. I turned off the radio and AC to listen more closely; the sound was not audible. But then traffic came to a standstill. As I slowed, that barely audible noise began to sound like something boiling in the engine. The temperature and pressure gages were all in normal operating ranges. I pulled to the shoulder of the interstate and checked under the hood. I noticed a distinctive squeaking sound although the fan belt was intacted in running true. …”

NHTSA complaint #11750159, filed 2026-07

Transmission and drivetrain: “Driving on the Highway the Engine failed at highway speeds and the Tahoe experienced a complete shutdown, we could not restart the vehicle nor shift to neutral. We had the vehicle towed and was told by the dealer that it needs a engine replacement at 14,000 miles.”
