“1. I was driving at approximately 65 MPH for about an hour, with the outside temperature at approximately -10f to -15f. Please note that my vehicle does not have cruise (speed) control. 2. I noticed that the engine was revving on its own, and maxxing out! The accelerator no longer had any effect and the engine was going as fast as it could even with my foot completely off of the accelerator. Braking was ineffective because the engine counteracted any braking attempt. When I moved my gear shift to neutral the tachometer redlined. …”

“Engine oil down 2.5 quarts at 20,000 cumulative miles and within 3,000 miles of recent oil change. Dealership doing dye test on second instance of being down 1.5-2 qts on subsequent 2800 miles. Dealer and Chevrolet indicate this is normal”

NHTSA complaint #10078549, filed 2004-06, 18,000 miles

“2003 Chevrolet Tracker whenever it rains we live in fear of our vehicle hydroplaning, it has on numerous occasions. A lot of close calls but no accidents yet! We have these caps we've used to know the tire pressure so we know it isn't for lack of air in the tires. We have had trouble with the serpentine belt coming loose. Just 8 months after purchasing it new. We have a child and safety is a big issue!”
