“2005 Chevrolet trailblazer.....speedometer works improperly while driving. I will be driving at a rate of 60 MPH and all of a sudden the speedometer jumps to 95+ MPH and when I turned off the motor the speedometer will not go back to zero and will sit on 20 or 30 MPH instead of zero. This has been happening for over a year. Please help.......”

“Speedometer on 2005 trailblazer is misleading. You can be doing 70mph and it will only register 50 MPH. Sometimes you can be doing 20 MPH and it will register 120 MPH. But 80% of the time the speedometer is correct (I think). This can be dangerous, especially to new drivers (my daughter who just turned 16). Gm is providing misleading information to the driver and you have no indication that it is incorrect.”

NHTSA complaint #10307286, filed 2010-02, 135,000 miles

“Electrical issues:vehicle dashboard lights will show door gate open, doom lights wil be on, ringing bell when the door would be open and yet its actually closed, as all continues to go at any given time when the vehicle is in movement. Speed odometer gage doesn't read when vehicle is in movement and the gas gage doesn't read the correct level of showing how much gas is in vehicle. This is a big safety issues cause it has me worried of not knowing how much gas I have before it runs out of gas risking myself and others because vehicle all of a suddenness loses speed and shuts down.”
