“This september I came home from my nieces wedding and went to open my passenger side door and it wouldn't budge.. I literally had to kick the door open. It has happened on numerous occasions now, I was told it is a problem in the wiring. The wiring under the floor mats aren't protected enough and become corroded because the floor boards gets wet.”

NHTSA complaint #10206969, filed 2007-10, 102,500 miles

“Passenger side door has fallen off track twice. I has it fixed both events and it cost me $125.00. Now I hear that other people have been experiencing this problem. Gm needs to approve a re-call to address the safety issues surrounding the sliding doors on the Venture, silhouette, and montana mini-vans.”

NHTSA complaint #10157101, filed 2006-05, 87,000 miles

“I own a Chevrolet Venture 2000.. Extended.. At about 50,000 miles my fuel indicator is all over the place it say low fuel or full doesn't matter how much gas is in it.. Also the sliding door was shut one night and fell off in my kids hands..”

NHTSA complaint #10049166, filed 2003-12, 50,000 miles

“The passenger side power sliding door on my 2000 chevy Venture does not close properly. This has been a problem since I bought the van new. I have taken it to chevy dealers on different occasions, but was told there was no problem. At one time last year, the door opened while driving down the road. My 4 year old daughter was in the seat by the door and thankfully did not fall out. We took it immediately to the dealer, but they again said nothing was wrong. …”

NHTSA complaint #10014519, filed 2003-04, 1 miles

“On leaving the parking lot at southern maryland hospital, I heard a scraping noise coming from the bottom of the van. I quickly pulled over and looked under the van. The front frame had dropped to the road and I found that the steering wheel now turned 360 degrees. Fortunately, I had not entered a high speed road so I was able to pull over out of harms way before anything drastic happened. I had it towed to jack winegardner Chevrolet. They looked it over and said the bolt holding up the frame had sheered off. They did not know why it happened. …”
