“Front crank seal is pushing out, massive oil leak. I have had this repaired 2x and it still leaking oil. The repair shop has told me that it is a manufacturers defect and that they should fix it for me. They said that it is not a matter of if it will happen again but when it will happen and it should be fixed by manufacture for me. When it leaks it leaks on timing belt and than the engine slips. Please help!”
NHTSA complaint #10631675, filed 2014-09, 61,306 miles“I purchased this vehicle used from fred beans, boyertown, pa on 8/1/13 with approx. 78k miles on it. I was driving in traffic, slowing down for a traffic, when my vehicle lost power and then began to hesitate when I attempted to pick up speed. There was no acceleration and it appeared the car would stall. It never stalled but I did pull over and shut the car off, started it again and after a few moments, was able to drive normally for a few miles. The check engine light went on and the car hesitated again. …”
NHTSA complaint #10583081, filed 2014-04, 80,000 miles“My car suddenly started leaking massive amounts of oil. I brought my car to tires plus to see if there was something they could do to fix my car and how much it would cost. They advised me that Chrysler has been aware of the failure issue for some time but has not issued a recall to fix the issue. They also advised that they were unable to fix my car as once the gasket failed initially it would lead to serial failure of the gasket and the replaced part would only last from 3 to 6 months. How is it possible that Chrysler could know about this and not take responsibility?”
