Example complaints

Electrical system: “Fuse 8 under hood, 20a fuse. Chrysler has a couple of branch circuits downstream of this and collectively an increased load condition causes an overload on startup only. Instant burn fuse cant cope. The problem is design, there are 4 circuits fed downstream on that fuse, if the collected load builds some resistance it will exceed the capacity of the fuse. I am currently changing the fuse daily just to start my car and go. And sometimes have to change it again before leaving my destination. …”

NHTSA complaint #10758483, filed 2015-08, 120,000 miles

Air bags: “The horn on the vehicle starts to randomly go off and will not stop. Horn will blow even while driving at random times. This is a safety concern as there is also a clicking noise that is emitting from underneath the airbag assembly as the horn starts to go off. I am concerned that at some point during driving the airbag may deploy at the same time as the horn is randomly going off. I have contacted Chrysler and they say they are unaware of this issue even though there are multiple complaints about this issue listed with the NHTSA and do not consider this a safety concern. …”

NHTSA complaint #10557109, filed 2013-12, 87,000 miles

Other or unknown: “Since purchasing vehicle in 2006 the horn has been going off by itself.. Whether driving or sitting stationary. I have had to bang on the horn pad area to get it to stop. After years of having to do this to stop the blaring horn, it now has a short.. Runs down my battery but will not blow at all. I have had to pull the fuse to save my battery, however, because it will not blow, I cannot get an inspection sticker. Therefore, I have had to drive with an expired sticker since august 2016 as I cannot afford the hundreds it would cost to fix the horn on this vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #11144551, filed 2018-10, 106,000 miles

Engine cooling: “The horn goes off intermittently and eventually the only alternative is to disconnect it, because of poor assembly from Chrysler, they attached the horn to the airbag and the entire system has to be replaced- if the horn does not work, neither does the airbag. A death trap. Poor design of the 2.7 engine by Chrysler..oil light flickers... Oil sludge build up which will cause catastrophic engine failure and result in an accident. Chrysler refuses to address these problems.”
