“I replaced the struts in july and now the control arms in december. The shop I work with stated Dodge has a design flaw with these components and a recall should be in place. I reached out to Dodge and they said they have issued recalls for this with other vehicles, but not the Charger. I have paid over $1200 dollars to replace parts that I am told should be recalled.”

NHTSA complaint #10934986, filed 2016-12, 70,000 miles

“I was driving my vehicle when all of a sudden my radio turns off, then my ABS and tread light come on along with a light that says brake now. I come to a stop and then everything shuts off. I can not push the brake to start the car back up and a burning electrical smell is coming from the hood. I have to manually lock my doors as the alarm does not work, then my windshield wipers start going off. Based off of research a lot of people are having these issues and saying it is the alternator. That is unacceptable for a 2011.”

NHTSA complaint #10632611, filed 2014-09, 48,000 miles

“Had a clunking noise in rear. Rt rear tire was wearing out premature. Found a loose bolt in rt rear upper control arm link and both sides had loose control arm bushings in the link arms. 4 total. One was actually bending the large washer out almost to the point of failure. If this happened the wheel would have become logged in the wheel well and caused the car to loose control.”

NHTSA complaint #10892765, filed 2016-08, 60,000 miles

“The driver's side wheel had a loud metal on metal scraping noise, both with braking and without braking, in both drive and in reverse positions. The noise only lasted for approximately two miles and could not be replicated, when I arrived at the tire place. They did replace some brake hardware on that side, saying that it was a thin metal piece behind the brake pad was bent. But now, two weeks later the wheel was making the same noise but not as loudly and it also went away on its own after driving a few miles. …”

NHTSA complaint #10713347, filed 2015-04, 43,505 miles

“This is the second alternator in two years both burned up. Charger 2011 model sucks big time. So many problems with this car. Chrysler should recall the alternator. I know others are having the same problem...updated 07/23/14 the consumer stated the day the alternator burned up, the vehicle was loosing power while driving. There was a burning smell. The radio and dashboard grew dim and then went blank. The rear tire had to be replaced every 2-3 months. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where they agreed something was wrong, for the tires to be wearing prematurely. …”
