NHTSA complaint #10717348, filed 2015-05, 38,500 miles“1999 Dodge Dakota wiring problem. My 1999 Dodge Dakota has a wiring problem that causes the cruise control to be stuck in the on position and causes the turn signal to freeze while at a long light. The cruise control is a dangerous situation since it can not be disengaged with the brake, you must manually turn the system off. Superior Dodge in nicholasville, ky has already charged me for 2 hours labor to try and find the problem but have had no luck finding the shorted out wire yet.”
NHTSA complaint #10043238, filed 2003-10, 56,000 miles“Engine pings over 30 MPH, speed control sensor had to be replaced, suspension (sway bar, rack bushings, and control arm) need to be replaced to the tune of $700.00.”
NHTSA complaint #10008264, filed 2003-02, 60,000 miles“Got an ABS warning lamp (stayed lit) on the instrument panel when I started the car. When I drove down the road, the speedometer didn't work. I troubleshot the problem myself and corrected it. The speed sensor, mounted in the rear end, was bad (read open with an ohmmeter). I purchased a new sensor ($42) from the dealer and installed it. Car works ok now.”
NHTSA complaint #764583, filed 2002-07“Had been running on cruise control for about 3 miles when vehicle rapidly accelerated to about 70 MPH. I depresseded the coast button, reducing the speed to 60. I had no further cruise control incidents/failures.”
