“The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Dakota. While slowing to stop the vehicle, the rpms suddenly increased and the vehicle experienced sudden acceleration. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on multiple occasions, but the failure could not be duplicated. The accelerator pedal was replaced, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 100.”

The vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v795000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was approximately 137,000.”
