“Takata recall. I have received two recall notices. The first dated june 24, 2015, the second dated september 3, 2015. I have contacted my dealer on several occasions and have still yet to receive this recall repair on my vehicle. The dealer says that parts are still not available. Do you know when I can expect to have the recalled part available for install?”

NHTSA complaint #10851743, filed 2016-03, 52,000 miles

“I was told that it would take 30-90 days for a part to be delivered to my dealer. I received a recall notice about the airbag indicating that metal fragments could strike and potentially cause serious injury if my driver side airbag deploys. A thirty to ninety day wait is unacceptable.”

NHTSA complaint #10762826, filed 2015-09, 31,000 miles

“I turned off of highway 501 and was heading east on a 40 MPH road. A 2001 saturn station wagon turned left directly in my path and I t-boned the saturn dead center of my Dodge Dakota, collided with the read passenger's side tire. The rear tires came approximately 3 feet off the ground. Both air bags fired on the saturn station wagon. My airbag did not.”

NHTSA complaint #10417609, filed 2011-08, 77,686 miles

“Re: safety recall. I have made 4 attempts to resolve recall # p40/NHTSA 14v-354 airbag failure in my Dodge Dakota truck.. No parts available per dealership and probably will not be available per Dodge until the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year, if then. Why???”

NHTSA complaint #10691791, filed 2015-03, 82,000 miles

“Takata recall I took this truck in for the recall, left the dealer and the steering locked up as I turned onto a road, I had to jerk it very hard to release the wheel and when it did release it made a snapping sound from the steering column in the area where the airbag sits. Went back and told them what happened and five minutes later I was told my steering shaft couplers are bad. I never had this issue before, but they say I'm wrong as of now we are afraid to drive this vehicle.”
