“My headlights are too low. Hard for me to see. Especially when going around a corner, I can't see far enough ahead. Afraid of wrecking. I tried cleaning the outside headlights thinking they may have a film on them, but it didn't help. If their are no reflective markers on the road it is very hard to see the white line.”
NHTSA complaint #10730776, filed 2015-06, 107,326 miles“I have had ongoing problems with my 1996 Dodge NEON sport, it has been inoperable for the last year or so, due to electrical problems and stalling which I believe stem from the wiring harness. I have had the brakes replaced a few times, the A/C replaced, fuel injection acts up and the fuel gauge fluctuates, my transmission has started slipping, power steering and exhaust are leaking, numerous oil leaks, rear lights/ brake lights have not worked in over a year, driverside window broke along the extending arm inside of the door frame, trunk release is broken and my cruise control is broken! …”
NHTSA complaint #10143833, filed 2005-11, 50,000 miles“Drivers side headlight assembly broke from inside of the hood, causing light to jump around while going down the road. Head light is so loose it will fall out and dealership represenative said it is my responsiblility to fix. 214.00 plus labor and tax. I do not feel that a headlight assemble should crack unless there has been an accident. If the headlight does short out or fall of this could cause failure of lights while traveling atvery dangerous. I am very concered since this our car that my daughter has to drive back and forth to college. …”
NHTSA complaint #723129, filed 2000-05“- the contact stated that she has replaced her brakes lights ten times on her 1996 Dodge NEON. She has taken the vehicle into the dealership once to have repairs done yet the failure recurred. The vehicle has an odometer reading of 74000.”
NHTSA complaint #10178595, filed 2007-01“In severial NEON's there has been water damage due to improperly sealed trunks and rear lights. Water comes in. Settles in tire well, then seeps into back seat and onto floor. To get this fixed $720. In cost. The back area fills up with water. The rugs mildew as well as the rear seat. The bolts on drivers seat rusted in short time.”
