NHTSA complaint #10083830, filed 2004-08, 45,000 miles“The plastic lenses on my 1995 Dodge NEON's headlights, turn indicators, and fog lights have significantly deteriorated over time. The lenses have yellowed and are pitted causing a significant loss of light output. It is less safe to drive this car at night. I wrote to daimler chrysler and they denied my claim. They acknowledged that the repair is expensive but stated that the warranty had expired. I do not believe this is a warranty issue - I believe it is a safety issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10008373, filed 2003-03“'ive had my car since 9/94 and now with 123,000 miles. I like the shape and the color and comfort of the car. I was told by several dealers to drive it to the end. I will never get what I paid for a trade-in. As of now, ive use my exetended warranty, cant afford to put in shop, 2/98 made a call to holzauers and asked about my skruntched in bits pieces rotor. They checked for squeeks and didnt tell me about a bad rotor. Squealing and no brakes. A new brake system was done and still squeaking. Now back brakes are bad. Ive had lots of bad things happen. …”
NHTSA complaint #706824, filed 1999-05“Hazard lights failed causing it to be dangerous to speed (fear of further delays) to the emergency room (residence out of ambulance are, would have taken longer to call 911) , wife miscarried, which could have been prevented if arrived sooner.”
NHTSA complaint #702497, filed 1999-01“Left turn signal on, all lights in back of car flash. Then applied brakes, all lights were steady. Take foot off brakes, all lights in back flashed again. Front left signal does the same thing.”
