“There was an electrical fire in my steering wheel column caused by the wiring I had my 3 week old son in the car and had to call the fire department to get it out I have not found out yet how badly the vehicle has been damaged.”
NHTSA complaint #10023092, filed 2003-06, 160,000 miles“Fuel pump (20a) fuse randomly blows. 30a fuses used and also randomly blow causing vehicle to stall. No indication of problem with fuel pump itself. O2 sensor and EGR valve has been replaced. Mechanics have been unable to isolate the cause but have found different variations of circuit/wiring diagrams for this '95 NEON sport model vehicle. Mechanics have also received varying advice from Dodge dealerships on the cause and remedy. Result is safety hazard to vehicle driver and occupants if the system fails in traffic.”
NHTSA complaint #10028501, filed 2003-07, 74,000 miles“Car running rough-pulled over-opened hood--spark plug wire flew off and plug jumped out of hole and landed on ground next to me. Replaced plug and limped to my mechanic,,then to dealer who installed helicoil. Cannot get refund from manufacturer because my mechanic replaced all plugs. Faulty plugs had been in since 30,000 miles..obviousely a manufacturing defect.”
NHTSA complaint #713520, filed 1999-10“Loss of steering occurred when I drove through a puddle of water during a rainstorm and the steering power was cut causing me to hit a concrete curb at about 15 MPH in a parking lot scratching the paint on the front bumper. Second the wiring in the dome switch in the passenger door and the wires in the lights on reminder in the driver's door is shorted causing them not to work properly. …”
NHTSA complaint #711003, filed 1999-09“This car has been a nightmare since I'll purchased it, I had to have my transmission replaced, my engine light keep going on, my radio keeps going out. If it's not one thing it's another. I will never buy another chrysler product. My mother has always owned chryslers but she's change her mind. My dealer only cares about the sale of the car, not the service after you sign on the dotted line. Thanks, nicole”
