“The dashboard has developed large cracks. It is distracting while driving and could possible be a safety issue. I also almost cut my hand when applying interior cleaner/shine this past saturday. I know I need to be careful but it is pretty ridiculous for this to be cracked so bad. Dodge needs to step up and at least offer steep discounts to get this fixed.”
NHTSA complaint #10497835, filed 2013-02, 210,000 miles“Dashboard is cracking in several places and falling apart. I took the dash cover off to glue it back together and seen that the dash body is also cracking, after gluing the top dashboard back together, less than a month later cracks appeared next to the cracks that I glued together. It is only a matter of time before the dash body collapses.”
NHTSA complaint #10455464, filed 2012-04, 100,000 miles“My dash has completely cracked and is in pieces,(sharp pieces), it could affect the wiring in my dash, if I did have an accident the air bags in the dash could throw those sharp pieces at me and my passengers. Note: these crack were at no fault of mine or my passengers. The cracks started two years after I bought the truck brand new.”
NHTSA complaint #10461966, filed 2012-06, 27,000 miles“The dashboard in my truck has disintegrated to the point that I had to remove it because I was scared that one of my kids would get hurt or even killed if we were involved in an accident. I believe chrysler co. Should initiate a full recall and replace the plastic death traps they installed in their vehicles.”
NHTSA complaint #10508149, filed 2013-04, 100,000 miles“The dashboard cracks by it self and I`ts rely sharp edges I`ts like is dissolving by it self and as I can see all the models from 1999 to 2006 are the same Dodge is not doing anything about it and if you have a accident with the truck sharp peaces can injure the passengers in the truck if you can do an investigation you will see that this is a urgent recall.”
