“We own a 1994 Eagle Summit that was subject to recall campaign 98v168003, but the work was never performed while the vehicle was owned by the prior owner. Are we still entitled to have the safety related recall repair performed without charge?”
NHTSA complaint #10212611, filed 2007-12“I replaced my transmission soon after teh car was paid for and was surprised after taking excellent care of the car. Almost a year had past and the used transmission that I replaced the first on with has turned out bad as well. I think that consumers have been cheated because these cars are not being made any more and the company seems to not care about future consumers.”
NHTSA complaint #739834, filed 2001-01“Engine head gasket replacements - 3/13/96, 11/3/97, 2/15/99, 11/15/99, transmission replacements - 9/13/99, 10/19/99, transmission control module - 10/19/99. Now I'm being told by darscars that the engine is bad and will cost $2700 to repair. In the last 3 years I have paid over $5000 for the same repairs. Request investigations into these reoccurring and unresolved problems.”
NHTSA complaint #714791, filed 1999-11“Upon acceleration transmission will slip out of gear, causing loss of power, speed, and possibly control of vehicle. Consumer had to have transmission rebuilt twice.”
