“I want to complain about the unreasonable damage due to exterior rust forming in a stress-bearing area of my 1995 Eagle Talon. Specifically, the right-front mounting points for the strut and upper 'a' arm have rusted into non-existence. There is very little rust on other parts of the automobile.”

NHTSA complaint #10117882, filed 2005-04, 146,414 miles

“I have had both the left and right spindle (knuckle assy) wear out on my car. After talking to dealer this is not an uncommon event. After looking at the spindle it looks to me that if this thing breaks while I'm driving there is going to be some sort of lose of control. While driving I have even noticed that my car would start to drift out of the lane because of the lose spindle.”

NHTSA complaint #10007727, filed 2003-02, 104,400 miles

“I own a 95 Eagle Talon and brought it to pro jeep Eagle in early summer. The staff replaced the drivers side but stated the passenger side was not in need for replacement. I disagreed. This morning as I pulled out of my driveway and into the street, before getting 100 feet my front end fell to the ground. The ball joint broke. I called the dealership and they said they were not responsible, again I disagreed. This could have been a wrongful death. Auto recall date: apr 05, 1999 vehicle component: suspension:front:control arm:lower ball joint.”

NHTSA complaint #10137919, filed 2005-09, 150,000 miles

“My complaint is in regards to a serious defect/crash hazard in suspension: front:control arm: lower ball joint defect that has been recalled (id 00v421002, dec 15, 2000) last week my daughter had just got off the interstate and her right front ball joint broke completely off with no warning or sign of wear. This also caused the axle to pull away completely. I got the car fixed, and believe it or not the left side let go today, again just as she got off the interstate on her way home from school. A year ago or so we had them checked because of the recall and they said they were ok. …”

NHTSA complaint #10016190, filed 2003-04, 130,000 miles

“The owner said the dealership would not honor a recall for the lower ball joint. As the consumer was driving the vehicle, it had come to a sudden stop. It was discovered the right lower ball joint had separated. The dealership confirmed that the right lower ball joint had separated and the left lower ball joint showed wear. No repairs have been made.”
