1995: “I have a 95 Eagle Talon tsi and I have a transfer case noise and leaky transfer case it is part of the transfer case recall 780. Chrysler says the recall is one time only everything I have read says safety recalls are for the life of the vehicle. I contacted a dealership and they said there was no such recall. I am afraid it is going to lock up after reading about it online”
NHTSA complaint #10788043, filed 2015-11, 20 miles1993: “I bought the car and drove it less than 20,000 mile then the timing belt broke causing the exhaust valves to bend and mess the head up causing me to replace the engine ant almost $2000.00. I hear that this is an ongoing problem with these cars I read where people are sueing for repair.”
NHTSA complaint #10056831, filed 2004-02, 110,000 miles1997: “There is a safety recall for the transfer case. I have all the symptoms transfer case failure. There is oil leaking and the transfer case locks up, making it impossible to drive the car, the wheels will not budge. I have talked to two dealerships. Neither will honor the recall because it has been performed before. I have talked to chrysler and they will not allow the recall to be performed. The person I spoke to said it could not be done because it is not a faulty part.even though what is wrong with the car is exactly what is stated in the recall. This is a safety recall. …”
