1992: “The vehicle's ABS control unit experienced the same defect stated in recall 96 v 099 000. The dealership was unable to service the vehicle because the manufacturer no longer made the part.”
NHTSA complaint #10040668, filed 2003-09, 70,000 miles1989: “While increasing in speed of about 5 to 10 miles per hour the car continued to increase in speed, applied brakes, but continued to pick up speed, applied emergency brake still didn't slow down. The car increased in speed up to 95 miles per hour. I'm not sure what I finally did or what happened to slow the car down. This is the third time that this has happened, I even tried reaching down and lifting gas pedal, to no avail.”
NHTSA complaint #708207, filed 1999-071988: “Drivers side lap belt female connector does not stay fastened. Dealer advises part discontinued and not available. Thus, I am forced to violate the law and endanger all drivers of vehicle due to mfr. Decision and lack of foresight. The mfr specifically states that lap belt should be worn in addition to passive restraint (motorized shouldder belt); yet they discontinue part that permits me to wear lap belt. The passive restraint system has twice been recalled and mfr. Has repaired it. The more important belt, in mfr opinion & mine goes unrepaired. Help! …”
