“Driving home from a trip when tire suddenly exploded. Brand new tire blowout. I am very meticulous about tire pressure, as I check prior to every trip and morning. My coach also has TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) and pressure was perfect. Blowout has caused $15k in damages and 5 months of repair time.”

NHTSA complaint #10871843, filed 2016-06, 8,500 miles

“We have had 2 rv tire blowouts in the last 2 years. We have a 2014 motorhome that came from the factory with goodyear g670rv tires. Both front, passenger & driver tires, have blown out causing extensive damage to our coach.”

NHTSA complaint #11091081, filed 2018-04, 20,000 miles

“My motor coach is a 2014 Entegra coach built on a spartan k2 chassis. Spartan installed new front tires (goodyear g670 295/80/22.5) on my coach on 4/22/2016. My coach was weighed at all tires and the correct tire pressure was obtained from the tire manufacturers chart, which is the pressures that I maintained. Approximately 18,000 miles later on 8/27/2019 we were driving down the highway and the right front tire blew for noreason. We had the tire replaced and continued on our way. About 2 hours later our left front tire blew, again for no reason. …”

NHTSA complaint #11253454, filed 2019-09, 37,390 miles

“We had a wreck with our motor home through no fault of our own. After the tire exploded, we ended up in a swampy field approx. 300 yards off the highway. There were no events leading up to the failure of this tire. We were running smoothly at the speed limit of 65mph. We had been traveling for approx. 3 hours on a smooth highway. We were in our 45' motor home. We heard an explosion sound, sudden loss of air, it had never happened ever before. All the tires had a lot of tread and only approx. 27,000 miles on all tires. We did not hit anything in the road. …”

NHTSA complaint #11080396, filed 2018-03, 27,800 miles

“Saw an article in the local paper, regulators open probe of good year tire failures this week. Although the only tire mentioned in the article is a g159 model, I am concerned about problems with the g670 rv tires. On june 6th this year we had a goodyear g670 rv tire blowout while traveling through kentucky on I-65. The tire was on the right front of the coach and it literally exploded and did over $18,000 dollars of damage. We were captive in paducah, ky for 116 days waiting for the coach to be repaired. If you haven't heard about problems with these tires ill be surprised. …”
