Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“We have called Fleetwood and ford with this problem and no one wants to take responsibility. We have had this vehicle checked at two ford dealers and they said it was a design flaw allowing the water tank, the gas tank, and both holding tanks with the generator also behind the rear axle. All this weight is in the overhang behind the rear axle. We have had each wheel weighed individually, and there is a tremendous amount of weight on the rear end. Could you please help us as we are retired, this motorhome cost alot of money and we can't use it, but we must make the payment every month. …”

“Nar 02/10/2003.. The rv had multiple problems such as the windshield falling out, the roof leaked, there was a propane gas leaked which almost caused a fire, the steering system had to much play, the bolts in the u-joint fell out, the wires feeding the alternator were too tight, the left turn signal was inoperative, the power steering hose and clip broke, radiator fluid leaked, the windshield wipers did not work, the hangars on the exhaust pipe broke. …”

“Motor home has 1 3/4 lean to the l. Rear, dealer measured 2 1/4 lean and Fleetwood measured 3/4 lean. Due to lean the front end bounces and needs steering improvements. Rubber roof has bubbles. Compartment/entry doors not opening/closing/locking correctly.”
