“I have a 1999 Jamboree rv(class c). I have had several incidents with flat tires on the inside rear tire. These flats have resulted in severe damage to the coach. In the past 18 months we have had five flat tires on the inside rear. I have installed tire inflators that make checking the pressure and maintaining the pressure easier (thinking this was the problem). I check this prior to every use. We use the coach often and usually stay within a 80 mile radius. I have gone on three trips when the milage has exceeded 250 miles one way. It is on these trips that I have the problems. …”

The tread damaged the undercarriage of the rv with damage to the fuel filler line and hoses. Occurred with 16,413 miles. This is the second firestone tire DOT#vdil1xd109 to separate.”
NHTSA complaint #10045523, filed 2003-11, 16,413 miles“On 7/11/2011 around 12:35 pm my 1999 Fleetwood Jamboree 29l motorhome on a ford e450 chassis was being driven on the highway from ear falls ontario canada to vermillion bay ontario canada. The motorhome was being driven at 50mph on a good road surface. Heard a loud pop like a .22 caliber pistol shot and then vibrations from the passenger rear of the motor home. Slowed down and stopped at a pulp check area within a 100yds of the explosion. Found the inner rear passenger side tire had separated tread while the rest of the tire was still intact but flat. …”
NHTSA complaint #10415231, filed 2011-07, 14,000 miles“We have experienced vibration problems at various speeds since the day we purchased the unit. Despite my requests of Fleetwood and ford to replace the tires they would only replace the rims. That helped but a slight vibration remained. We tolerated it for over two years. In september, 2001, while traveling 70 MPH on an interstate, the inside left rear tire tread separated. Firestone replace the tire at no cost to me. …”
NHTSA complaint #755309, filed 2001-12“Saturday, july 14, 2007, we were traveling in our Fleetwood motorhome east on I-40, in arkansas. All of a sudden the motorhome began to violently vibrate, there was an intensified roaring sound, the motorhome was out of control shaking rapidly across the interstate, the vibration forced the door to ajar, the television began vibrating and fell towards the floor, the cabinets and refrigerator doors flew open and the contents hurled forcefully striking us, the shower door and bathroom door began slamming into one another, there was a deafening explosion from the driver's side of the motorhome. …”
