Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Loss of rear brakes was indicated by the indicator light on the dash. Upon inspection of the hydraulic system, a rupture in the rear crossover hydraulic line that supplies fluid to the right rear wheel was discovered, resulting in loss of fluid. The rupture occurred where the line had been clamped to the under side of the rear shelf in the passenger compartment resulting in a kink in the line. This was the original hydraulic line installed at the factory.”

NHTSA complaint #10222425, filed 2008-03

“The car suddenly veered left upon sudden braking almost causing loss of control. Car has anti-lock brakes that did not activate. Tires are in good shape and properly inflated.”
