“The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) tube broke at the flexible section of the tube on my 1995 Ford E-150 van with a 5.8l engine. The broken EGR tube causes exhaust to leak. Ford currently has a similar recall on 1993 -1997 super duty trucks, NHTSA recall #97v209 (Ford campaign #97s92).”

NHTSA complaint #10159562, filed 2006-06, 69,000 miles

“The vehicle caught fire while parked in the driveway. The consumer noticed some smoke and burning odor coming from the vehicle. The consumer stated, the fire went out by itself. The cause of the problem has not been determined. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified.”

NHTSA complaint #10109796, filed 2005-02, 95,000 miles

“This unit has had two engines, both destroyed by thefailure of Ford part number 389160-s. This is a plastic t to connect three heater hose together that rots in time and causes complete engine failure at high speed. Found in vans with rear heat. Component should have been the traditional metal. This part is an engine dependant part and should have never been made out of plastic .”

NHTSA complaint #761035, filed 2002-04

“The fuel filler hose and the overflow hose have rotted and cracked to the point where it is almost impossible to refuel the vehicle. After refueling, the gas fumes are are quite strong and the possibility of fuel blowing back onto the hot exhaust and brakes is extremely high. Ford does not have any recalls on the fuel hose for this particular vehicle although there are some vehicles manufactured at other locations which have been corrected.”

NHTSA complaint #754189, filed 2001-11

“Passenger side seatbelt locked up causing the consumer to become trapped in. At 44,ooo miles transmission had to be rebuilt. Also, a 3rd set of brakes and tires had been replaced. In addition, door locks jammed and the door cannnot be opened . The vehicle pulls to the right due to poor alignment. The weather strip was not working because of the rear door moulding failure. The radiator was leaking. Ticking noise coming from engine area under aceleration or going up hills. Windshield wiper control knob must be turned all way around to turn on wipers due to multifunction switch failure.”

NHTSA complaint #832289, filed 1998-12
