“Purge valve caused fuel tank to be sucked in 3/4 of an inch. While driving I have surging and when stopped the idle is erratic and bounces between 1000 to 2000 RPM. Causes code p0300 to come and go and also p0497 to come and go. Extremely hard for dealerships to find the problem. I have video and picture proof of issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11187092, filed 2019-03, 121,500 miles“Parked and engine off: when refueling, the gas builds up, as it burps gas spills out under the car wheel and on to the pavements. The refueling takes forever, since we purchased it - we smelled our hands & shoes smelling like gas, but didn't connect it immediately to fuel system issue since it was a new car.”
NHTSA complaint #11203948, filed 2019-04, 1,000 miles“Transmission issues since purchasing the car brand new in 2013. Car jerks and accelerates sporadically. When taking off from a stop the car does not respond to pushing on the gas, but will then suddenly take off. It moves through the gears in a clunky manner. Makes grinding noises upon acceleration. The car rolls back on hills. I do not feel safe driving this car. Ford have no responded in a helpful manner to my enquires and appear not to be able to fix the problem.”
NHTSA complaint #10694842, filed 2015-03, 5,000 miles“I have been experiencing transmission problems including the car stalling when accelerating while trying to complete turns in traffic during turn signals. I have at one point a situation at a stop light where brakes were applied and car went forward unexpectedly. Additionally since almost the beginning of the vehicle it has run rough, sometimes having difficulty changing gears, multiple incidents where it stalled when accelerating on interstate. Had 2 different repairs to review problem, including Ford computer fix that was supposed to help, but did not. …”
NHTSA complaint #11234885, filed 2019-07, 40,000 miles“I bought the 2013 Fiesta in august of 2013. With 500 miles on it the transmission was lurching, clanking, and grinding. I took it to the dealer and they told me it was normal and they wouldn't even look at it. I also complained that the car was only getting 25mpg highway when it claimed 40. They said it was in the window for epa, and it would get better after 1500 miles. I complained to the main Ford customer service and they told me there was nothing they could do. I now have $14k miles on it and it still averages 20-25mpg highway. …”
