“While looking under my truck I noticed that the gas tank was hanging down on one end (rear) almost the ground, upon further inspection I found that one of the two straps that hold the tank up to the underside of the truck had broken loose, the part that attaches the strap to the truck frame had rusted away, I feel this is a very dangerous condition and could have been catastrophic.”

NHTSA complaint #10626563, filed 2014-08, 105,000 miles

“While pulling up to a security gate when I applied the brakes the vehicle accelerated. And I ran into the gate. I could not stop. Don't know why this happened”

NHTSA complaint #11353781, filed 2020-09, 145,000 miles

“I was coming home from work and I went to park my truck in the front yard. When the truck was about to stop the engine roared, as if I really hit the gas pedal and I had to jam the car in park to get it to stop. Today, as I was coming home from work, I was coming to a four way stop in a school zone. When I was almost stopped the truck engine accelerated and I had to put the truck in park to get it to stop. I need to know is there a recall from Ford for this. I cannot let anyone else drive my truck for fear it will happen to them and they will not know what to do.”

NHTSA complaint #10627630, filed 2014-08, 190,000 miles

“Slowing down while coming up to a signal light, as I made the right turn the truck suddenly stalled and the power steering and brakes became hard to handle. The truck however started up right away but had a loss of power for about half a mile to my home. After turning the truck off and starting it up again, the truck ran fine until the other day when it stalled and lost power again. Took the truck to the dealer and they said that they could not duplicate the problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #10182268, filed 2007-02, 55,400 miles

“Rear leaf shackles replaced, rotted from frame, last aug 2014 to pass inspection. This winter 2014-2015, the spare tire carrier frame rotted and fell from the vehicle, including the spare tire. Now, upon inspection of the bed appearing crooked, the drivers side frame in front of the drivers side front leaf spring mount is totally rotted. This has caused the gas tank mounts to the frame to break. It has also caused the bed to twist and the entire rear end of this vehicle is now only supported by the passenger side frame.”
