“Water in both headlights, no external damage. Can see hairline cracks all along the rim of the headlights. The turn signals are intermittently not working due to water. The issue was confirmed by the dealer however they said even though it’s a documented issue, my car was over the 60,000 mile warranty. I was at 63,000. The repair is $6000.”
NHTSA complaint #11768617, filed 2026-10“I was driving my vehicle when all of a sudden my passenger side headlight went out. I initially thought it was a light bulb I needed to fix. I turned the vehicle on after a few hours and the light was working again, but on occasion the light randomly turns off while I am driving. I looked online how to fix it and found multiple people with same issue and condensation build up which mine has without being damage.”
NHTSA complaint #11704052, filed 2025-12“Excessive condensation in the front headlight that constitutes a safety issue during night driving. Investigation into this needs conducted. I had the passenger side replaced under warranty but now I am outside warranty and the extended coverage excludes sealed headlight components. The dealership quoted $1600.00 to replace. Excessive for a safety item that should be recalled and manufacture should be forced to correct in a recall.”
NHTSA complaint #11733976, filed 2026-04“2022 Genesis G70: Severe moisture inside of headlights causing DRL, blinkers, headlights, etc., to short out or completely stop working. I had them replaced once under warranty and the same thing happened again. The Genesis dealership and Genesis customer care now refuse to take responsibility bc my warranty expired. They gave me a quote of $6078.95 (labor not included)!! My vehicle has never been wrecked, and there is no front end damage whatsoever.”
NHTSA complaint #11755110, filed 2026-08“The headlights will randomly start getting excessive condensation and if it gets bad enough it will affect the turn signal and render it useless. The dealer and Genesis Care both just tell me to turn on my brights for 18min to clear it up. I've already had one replaced under warranty and now the other one is doing it outside of warranty and they refuse to do anything. Today there was so much condensation my turn signal stopped working and a warning came on the dash saying to check turn signal. …”
