Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“I am submitting this complaint regarding the handling of a safety recall on my 2023 Genesis GV80. During an approximately seven-week service visit at an authorized Genesis dealership, I was verbally informed that the applicable safety recall had been completed. Based on my subsequent interactions, Genesis Corporate also appeared to believe the recall had been performed. However, the recall was not documented on my repair order and was ultimately completed later by a different authorized Genesis dealership (Genesis of Weatherford). …”

NHTSA complaint #11758086, filed 2026-08

“At approximately 68k miles, I observed hesitation when pulling away from a stop in our 2023 GV80 2.5t AWD Prestige. At 71,300 miles, we observed an increasing howling noise from the rear of the vehicle, primarily at coasting, with various tones emitted during application and release of the accelerator pedal. The rear differential fluid was drained for inspection, and there were metal shavings accumulated on the drain magnet, discolored (metallic shavings) fluid, and visible shiny metal flakes in the drained fluid. The differential is close to total failure on this vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #11758415, filed 2026-08

“Electronic traction control system fails to deliver power correctly when the vehicle is passing over icy ruts. The system incorrectly delivers additional power to wheels that have lost grip causing unpredictable driving behavior, which startles the driver. Even when Snow mode is on, this sytem fails the driver and may risk causing an accident in wintry conditions.”

NHTSA complaint #11521254, filed 2023-05

“Electronically controlled reae limited slip differential is failing at 6000mi. Normal driving conditions for the life of the vehicle thus far. Four out of five trips in the last 200 miles have shown a warning light on the dashboard with no explanation. Genesis is unable to remotely diagnose or see the issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11521251, filed 2023-05

“Rear limited slip differential actuator failure. Vehicle became unstable while driving although dashboard feedback did not indicate an immediate need for service. Genesis unable to remotely diagnose. Dealer has reported multiple incidents with the same issue.”
