“Our 2005 Gmc envoy has always had a faulty fuel gauge and has caused our family to be stranded a few times without gas while travelling far from home. We took it into a Gmc dealer who wanted $ 950 for parts and repairs. We just dont have that kind of money. Gmc has always been aware of this problem and has not offered to fix it nor have a recall on this faulty gas gauge. …”

NHTSA complaint #10421661, filed 2011-08, 64,000 miles

“Fuel gauge stopped working and the front end sounds like its loose. I have a five year old and can;t even tell when I'm low on gas and I'm not sure what's going on with the front end.”

NHTSA complaint #10463135, filed 2012-06, 108,000 miles

“Though I had 1/4 tank of gas in my car, I put in 13.5 gallons of fuel. When I turned on the engine, instead of the gas gauge showing full, the indicator dropped down to empty and the low fuel lights went on. This continued with the indicator showing 1/4 full, empty, full, empty until several days later, when it settled at 3/4 full. Every time I have added fuel to the gas tank, the same thing happens. I have been forced to write down my milage and keep track of how far I have driven in order to estimate when I need fuel. I cannot trust what the gauge reads.”

NHTSA complaint #10400101, filed 2011-05, 64,746 miles

“For the past few months when I turn on my truck the airbag light turns on and stays on for a few hours stating that it needs service. It happens every few weeks and it can be very dangerous. If I were to be involved in a car accident the air bags may or may not deploy. I had taken it back to the dealership where I purchased the truck to take a look at it and they said it was ok, that I must of passed a bump too fast causing it to turn on, but it has been quite a while and it continues to do the same thing. I guarantee no bump would cause a air bag light to turn on and malfunction. …”

NHTSA complaint #10263261, filed 2009-03, 52,000 miles

“Purchased the 2005 Gmc Envoy Xuv used in 2009 with 41000 miles. Within 3 months the envoy started having rear door latch failures. The rear door and glass can be opened in a traditional side door mode or a truck bed mode. Frequently the electronic latches that operate to let the door function in either way would fail. The envoy has been in several times over three years to have all the latches repaired and or replaced. Each latch has been replaced several times. …”
