Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The vehicle was cold and driven approx 1/2 mile to stop light from home. I was lightly stepping on the brake waiting for a light to turn green and all of a sudden a brief surge which caused me to hit the brake harder and then the surge stopped. I could see the tach go up as if I had hit the accelerator. In my opinion this sudden acceleration is a computer issue and not a toyota, ford or Gmc issue. Who manufactures the computer equipment for these vehicles? In my case I just ignored it because nothing bad happened but I thought the NHTSA should know. I have not had the problem since.”
