Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“While towing my camping trailer on the interstate I pulled into a rest stop. Then I noticed the right rear tire was flat. Later at a garage the serviceman found the valve stem had split. This was a snap-in rubber stem. I believe the tires on a truck of this size (Gmc 2500hd) and with this air pressure (80 PSI rear, 55 front) should have steel clamp-in type stems.”

“According to the district distributor representative for firestone he said the term stone chipping is what's happening to some of their tires. When I look at my tire, I see chips of rubber coming out of the tire even in the tread.”
