“The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500. The contact stated that the tailgate frequently opened independently while the vehicle was parked. The vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by a dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 40,600.”
