“Tow hitch on truck cracked had I not seen that the hitch was bending the trailer I was hauling would have broken loose while I was driving down the road.”
NHTSA complaint #10142539, filed 2005-11, 10,000 miles“Defect discovered this date, but known by manufacturer. Exhaust manifold bolts are breaking, leading to exhaust gases leaking under hood which will lead to emission problems. Learned that this is a common problem with GM 8 cylinder trucks made from 1999 to 2007, which involves about 12 million vehicles. The repair cost is $800 to $1000, and GM has not recalled or offered to extend warranty to cover the repair. This is clearly a manufacturing defect and GM should be held accountable.”
