“Coming back home from a trip to niagra fall, our Gmc Suburban 1999 rolled over 5 times. One of the tire (driver side front) exploded and right rear back tire shredded. Which caused truck to rollover. We were in little falls, were taken to st. Elizabeth hospital in utica. Our oldest daughter 11 got the most injuries. She has gotten 60 stitches on her face etc. Air bags of the vehicle did not deploy. Wondering why ????”
NHTSA complaint #10033474, filed 2003-08, 42,000 miles“Consumer states while traveling 55 MPH and as a result of a head on crash air bags did not deploy. Police reports also state that consumer lost control of vehicle due to tread seperation.”
NHTSA complaint #10033675, filed 2003-09, 124,000 miles“While traveling 30mph another vehicle pulled out in front. Gmc t boned the vehicle. Upon impact, neither air bag deployed. Passenger was leaning forward at time & the seat belt had become slack. Passenger hit head on windshield. The driver suffered bruises on chest & knees. Both had emergency room treatment due to a lack of air bags.”
NHTSA complaint #850843, filed 2000-02“When traveling 40-45 MPH driver hit another car on side of road, pushing it. Also, struck a tree head-on. Neither air bag deployed from either impact. Driver did sustain severe chest cavity injury. Please describe details.”
