“Vehicle with only 75,00 miles, runs rough and stalls, went to dealer and they say due to low oil at some point the timing chain has stretched and needs replaced along with sensors and actuators. Timing chain and associated parts replaced to the tune of $1715.00. I check the oil and the dealership has been changing it. This looks to be a factory defect. I have sent a letter to GM for resolution as well.”
NHTSA complaint #11243274, filed 2019-08, 75,000 miles“I just hit 105k on my vehicle and the intake camshaft position timing is causing my SUV to shut off while stopped. I was pulled halfway into a major highway when the light turned green I went to take off and the engine died. I tried to see if there was maybe a recall but I did not find one for my VIN number. Anyone else's check engine light coming on and throwing this code?”
NHTSA complaint #11045592, filed 2017-11, 105,000 miles“3 years old now and still getting around 10mpg and from the first day I got it in 2014 the drive shaft is rusted and was told by the dealer that nothing is wrong with the car. I also notice that when driving at night that the head lights are not made to see street name signs I have to use the high beams to see if I have the right street when looking for the place I have to go.”
NHTSA complaint #10925701, filed 2016-11, 149 miles“We bought our Terrain brand new in 2014, I have replaced the linkage once about 2 months ago and now the wipers do not work again. Our transmission is going and we just got out of 5 year warranty. So disappointed and frustrated with this vehicle”
NHTSA complaint #11280693, filed 2019-11, 95,000 miles“I've took it to car shop and they said it's burning oil. I have to get oil changes every 2500 miles, and it's low after 2 weeks. I've constantly adding oil and check it between oil changes. This is my first Gmc and I'm not too happy about this issue I'm having. 104561 mileage and engine light just came on this week. I'm very scare and I can't afford another engine. It's ticking loud and makes noise when I accelerate. I only work less than 5 miles from home and this is just crazy.”
