“In june of 2010 my fuel pump went out and I had to have it towed to a shop and fixed 700.00. Then in july of 2011 the fuel pump went out again, same thing had to have it towed and fixed at the same shop another 700.00. Then again in november of 2012, towed to same shop and same price. Now here we are 2014 and my fuel pump just went out for the fourth time. I have never received anything about a recall on my vehicle. I have had my hub bearing replaced and my wheel almost fell off. Just this past february I had a gas leak from the line and a whole tank of gas was on my garage floor. …”
NHTSA complaint #10655153, filed 2014-11, 98,000 miles“The contact owns a 2001 Gmc YUKON XL 1500. While driving approximately 45-50 MPH, the vehicle stalled due to the lack of fuel. The contact stated that the fuel gauge displayed the tank as half full although the fuel tank fuel capacity was empty. Also, the failure recurred after immediatley refueling. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis but was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.”
