“While driving today at a speed of 55 MPH in somewhat heavy traffic my service traction control and stabilitrack indicator came on as well as a message on the dash saying the same. At which time my vehicle came to slow down and I lost power. I pulled over and and shut the car down and upon restart noticed that not only did white smoke come from my exhaust but the car had a rough idle the same indicators were still on and the engine light had now come on as well and was flashing. …”

While driving 55-60 MPH, the cruise control feature would only work during mid-level road elevations. The vehicle would accelerate on its own. The failure almost caused two near crashes. The dealer and manufacturer stated that nothing could be done and it was not a safety defect or concern. The failure mileage was 3,500 and current mileage was 15,000.
