“I recently purchased my vehicle and after already transporting my family of 5, including my newborn child for several days, I noticed that my parking sensors were not working and I began receiving a message of my dash that parking assist, rear braking and auto park assist were unavailable. I reached out to GM around 4/4 informing them of the issue and they said they didn't have any recalls or retrofits for my vehicle and advised me to take it to a dealer's service deparment to be reviewed. …”

“The onstar module of my 2023 GMC Yukon has failed. This is a wide spread issue with recent model GMC's. There are thousands of reports of the same thing happenings. When an onstar module fails, the vehicle loses its safety features. No lane departure, no collision detection or pre-collision braking, no critical system checks. Even the gas and mileage components stop working correctly.”

The contact was informed that the repair was covered under an unknown recall repair. The vehicle was released back to the owner; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the vehicle was idling roughly and jerking abnormally. …”

“While driving in a gravel driveway, the window curtain airbags and the middle console airbags deployed, with no collision what so ever causing injury to the driver and should you have a child this could have been very damaging as the airbags came out in all the way back through the vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #11508711, filed 2023-02

“The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon XL. The contact stated that immediately after purchasing the vehicle, the battery failed and was replaced on two separate occasions. Additionally, while driving or reversing, the braking system erroneously activated, causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. During the failure, there were no other vehicles or large objects nearby to cause the Forward Collision Avoidance system to activate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on several occasions, but no failures were found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not yet been contacted. …”
