“When using the GPS the voice prompts will quit working and cause you to miss turns or have to take your eyes off of the road creating a safety issue. This has happened numerous times. Harley davidson has been aware of the problem for at least 6 months and state it is a software problem and it will be fixed in a future update. I feel that it is a safety issue and should be corrected quickly. Harley davidson engineers told my local dealership (timms harley davidson augusta, ga) they had a problem in june 2018 after numerous complaints. …”
NHTSA complaint #11166180, filed 2019-01, 100 miles“This Harley Davidson and many others won’t start while in gear. I was at a red light and when the light turned green I started in 1st gear and stalled the bike in the middle of the intersection. Normally Harley’s will start in gear so I tried but it wouldn’t. I had to turn off the bike, put it in neutral and start it. Harley issued a Service Bulletin, see attached, however unless the bike is under warranty they won’t fix it. This should be a recall as it’s very dangerous. I just purchased the bike and the previous owner had no idea. Please help fix this. Thanks”
