“I was riding my 2006 hd Vrscr when I turned a corner at an intersection in a town. I attempted to slow down using my rear brake when the pedal went completely down against its hard stop. No braking occurred. It happened with about 15,000 miles on the bike. It only happened this one time. I was able to stop with the front brake alone. I inspected the rear brake master cylinder and found the rear brake light switch leaking brake fluid. I replaced the switch and the brakes again work. The failed part is not available.”
NHTSA complaint #10350183, filed 2010-08, 15,000 miles“The contact owns a 2006 harley davidson Vrscr. When the contact depressed the brake pedal, the vehicle began to vibrate and shudder. The dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of failure on two occasions. However, on the third occasion, the dealer stated that the rotors were warped. As of july 3, 2007, the dealer has not repaired the vehicle because they have not received permission from the manufacturer. The current mileage is 17,100 and failure mileage was 3.”
