“Problem usually occurs during the day and when the weather is hot. Power system problem display comes on and engine service light as well. Turning the car off and on helps but the engine light stays on for another 24 hrs or so before turning off. The car felt like it lose gas engine power and operates electric only. I was going 65mph on the freeway, and when I try to step on the gas peddel, I can maintain that speed as long as the battery had enough power but the gas engine will not kick on. …”

“After the car has warmed up, a high pitched whistling sound (think dog whistle) emits upon rapid acceleration between 30 and 70 MPH. Have worked with Honda service depts, engineers, and customer service since february (estimated date) to no resolution. Noise began around 41k miles and has continued since. It is a distraction making it difficult to concentrate when driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11142234, filed 2018-10, 41,000 miles

“I was driving on highway at approx 75mph when got message power failed, overheating and breaks failed. Accelerator / gas pedal stopped working. Could have been big accident if vehicle from behind hit the car.”

NHTSA complaint #10744575, filed 2015-07, 2,000 miles

“Honda currently has a recall for Honda Accords 2013-2015, #20V769. I happen to have a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid, but because my particular VIN is not currently shown as affected, they refuse to reimburse me and fix the other side. This issue is related to drive shafts that will break due to corrosion. I was able to fix the broken driver side left axle, but this is clearly a sign that my vehicle was also affected by this manufacture error as it happened the same exact way they described it on the recall. This could have been a much worse accident, luckily I was at a stop sign when it snapped. …”
