“I was driving on a suburban neighborhood street and went over a speed bump at a very slow speed (2 MPH). I had not hit nor did I hit anything in the street. Rear passenger tire popped and went flat. Rupture was on the inside wall of the tire. Tires were manufactured 28th week of 2013. Tires were put on my 2003 Honda Civic lx on july 30, 2014 at 53496 miles and between july 30 and december 20, 2014 I had driven about 2,000 miles.”

NHTSA complaint #10670143, filed 2015-01, 55,468 miles

“1. Whirring noise that increases with speed. 2. Occasional clunking when braking. 3. Right side door speaker vibrates on level 3+. 4. Clicking noise when heater is on. Is this normal? 5. I find the car a very loud ride..a lot of echo underneath with every bump..I suspect the tires maybe. They are firestone.”

NHTSA complaint #10049240, filed 2003-12, 2,000 miles

“I installed 4 goodyear integrity tires on my 2003 Honda Civic hybrid. On 5/17/2011 I drove it on rain grooved concrete (us 287) and when it hit the grooved pavement, it went into a violent shimmy. There was a cross wind but the tires performed normally on smooth concrete, asphalt, and in the same cross wind on e-w and n-s highways. When I came to the rain grooves I was driving between 60-65 MPH and I had to slow to less than 45 MPH to have any secure control of the car. It felt like the steering column had come loose or the wheels were going wildly. …”

NHTSA complaint #10401515, filed 2011-05, 39,954 miles

“I wish to make notice to NHTSA that the issue in braking for prius vehicles would seem to me to be related, in general, to hybrids, built in japan, and not just toyota. I have an '03 Honda Civic hybrid, and it has issues. It has been in an accident back in '05 and what was the issue? Braking! The car went out of control under heavy braking (though all these vehicles have 4 whl ABS) in an animal-avoidance attempt. I ended up careening side-wise sliding until colliding with a utility pole, at the passgr side a pillar. Raccoon didn't survive. …”

NHTSA complaint #10306871, filed 2010-02, 51,000 miles

“Bridgestone tires 026325 insignia se200 bl p185/65r15 86/s 65,000 mile tires tore at 57,000 miles causing wheel to shake and almost have several accidents. I took car in to mechanic thinking I needed a balance and he took off my tires showing that 3 out of 4 them were tearing. These tires were manufactured in 2006 and should not be tearing by themselves. Mechanic said the wear on the tread and everything else was normal and tearing was not caused by any mechanical or vehicle malfunction. I contacted firestone and bridgestone and was not assisted. …”
