“The lane mitigation and brake system warning lights came on. The car swerved on its own off the road to the right. It put me onto the shoulder of the highway. I had to fight the steering wheel to get the car to move to the left to get back on the road. This happened twice during busy rush hour highway traffic. It also started braking periodically in the weeks leading up to this without any visible signs of being too close to an object or anything else. It was very unnerving.”

NHTSA complaint #11757368, filed 2026-08

“All the dashboard lights came on in my car. I took it to the dealer and they said they needed to clean the injectors due to carbon buildup. My car has 42,000 miles on it and is 2018 Honda Fit. They charged me 613 dollars to clean the injectors. Then they updated the computer. Two days later all the lights came on again and was throwing a fourth cylinder misfire code 304. They told me they would have to replace the injectors for 2,300 dollars. The Honda only has 42,000 miles on it, and the dealer said he would not be able to cover the cost. …”

“Failure of the, Multipurpose Camera (Honda Sensing), causing adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, and lane-keep assist to stop working. Failed in 2023 and was replaced by honda costing me 1,600 dollars. Now, 3 years later the camara failed again and it will be another 1,700 to replace.”

NHTSA complaint #11736772, filed 2026-05

“Multipurpose camera stopped working in normal conditions. Dealership says the camera is faulty. Several safety functions such as lane keep assist, collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control no longer work.”

NHTSA complaint #11690913, filed 2025-10

“Component/System Involved: The multi-purpose camera system on my 2018 Honda Fit has malfunctioned, disabling critical safety features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), and Collision Braking Warning System (CBWS). Safety Risk: The failure of these systems creates significant safety risks. Without ACC, the vehicle cannot maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. The LKAS no longer provides steering assistance to help stay in the lane, and the CBWS cannot detect or warn of potential collisions. …”
