“Auto engine idle continues to be problematic. Leaving me stranded in intersections and unable to restart my vehicle for minutes. Today when it happened it turned off my collision detection feature. I have taken to dealership several times, once they replaced fuel injectors due to related recall but since they show no issues.”
NHTSA complaint #11569719, filed 2024-02“Collision Mitigation Braking System camera failure indictions appeared in the dashboard control center. I took the vehicle to the Honda dealership who stated there is not an active recall and that this was not a covered expense. Out of caution because I have read of the system failues causing brake lock-up related to over 40 vehicular crashes and almost twice that number of injuries, I decided to immediately obtain this $2,000 repair. …”
NHTSA complaint #11723112, filed 2026-03“On Feb. 03, 2026 around 5:30 pm, driving 290 west going 65 mph. No cars on either side of me and the next closest car 6 lengths of me, my car slammed on the brakes and alarmed. The sudden braking lasted 1-2 seconds.”
NHTSA complaint #11717500, filed 2026-02“so i have a Honda pilot and have been seeing a light saying that my collision mitigation system is broke so i took it in for a diagnostic which i was charged for which is fine and normal i guess but they told me that the system was broken possibly from just driving through construction zones and this causes phantom braking so i have to get it fixed but they want to charge me for the repairs which from my perspective the customer i shouldn't have to pay for a defect like that that can cause injurie or much worse”
NHTSA complaint #11683601, filed 2025-08“Over the past couple months, while driving the collision mitigation braking system would activate for no reason. As of 2 weeks ago, now my collision mitigation braking system does not work and on the dashboard display it shows collision mitigation system problem. I have read on multiple Honda boards and general internet search on this issue, many people are having the same issue. This issue has been affecting people for maybe 5 years. I’m wondering why this is not a safety recall for the Honda vehicles.”
